BETTER ACCESS FOR HOSPITAL BUS USERS

Ipswich Buses services 5 and 11 are now calling into the new bus facility adjacent to the Garrett Anderson Accident and Emergency centre at Ipswich Hospital.

After an initial trial period, and subsequent alterations to the speed humps outside the Accident and Emergency centre, Ipswich Buses is now able to operate all its services to and from Ipswich Hospital from the new bus facility.

Managing Director of Ipswich Buses Malcolm Robson states:

“We have been working with Ipswich Hospital to try and improve bus services into the Hospital grounds.  The previous arrangement from Heath Road meant that hospital users had a considerable walk to the on site facilities.  This new bus service stopping area is a vast improvement on the previous arrangement and will make travel to and from Ipswich Hospital much easier for hospital users”.
