IPSWICH BUSES NOMINATED FOR INDUSTRY AWARDS

Ipswich Buses the Council owned bus company in Ipswich has been nominated for five categories in the UK Bus Awards 2009.

The UK Bus Awards is a national scheme, recognising best practice and the highest quality in providing local bus services.

Ipswich Buses has been nominated for:

  • Independent Bus Operator of the Year for fleets less than 100 vehicles
  • “Winning New Customers” in partnership with BT for the new shuttle bus services between Adastral Park and Ipswich Railway Station for BT visitors and contractors
  • The Soccer Savers free travel scheme for match day and season ticket holders to Ipswich Town home games
  • The Greensaver 7 travel strip offering seven trips for just £11 for anyone at anytime anywhere in Ipswich
  • The Group “5” ticket offering travel for up to five people for £5 anywhere on the Ipswich Town network after 5pm Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, Sundays and Bank Holidays

Ipswich Buses Managing Director Malcolm Robson states:

“To receive five nominations for these major industry awards is a significant achievement for a company the size of Ipswich Buses.  We are proud to remain locally owned and proud to continue to commit our energies to provide the local residents of Ipswich with bus services of the highest quality which have now been recognised nationally”.

The nominations will now proceed to short listing prior to the awards ceremony in November later this year.
