BUS NAMED IN HONOUR OF SIR BOBBY ROBSON
During the celebrations held on Monday 5 May 2008 to celebrate 30 years since Ipswich Town Football Club won the F. A. Cup, Sir Bobby Robson unveiled a Scania Omnicity single deck bus fleet number 74 in recognition of his services to Ipswich Town Football Club and the town.
Managing Director of Ipswich Buses Malcolm Robson states:
“Our Company has a long tradition of naming buses. Some of our fleet are named after local dignities and people of note who have brought recognition on themselves and Ipswich for their achievements. As part of the celebrations to remember 30 years since Ipswich Town won the F.A. Cup in 1978, beating Arsenal 1 – 0 at Wembley, our Company felt that this was a suitable way to commemorate this achievement and also to commemorate Sir Bobby Robson’s long and successful career in football management”. |
