Cheap travel for football fans

In an innovative partnership between Ipswich Buses and Ipswich Town Football Club all season ticket holders and Silver Club members of the football club will for the 2008/9 season be able to travel to and from all Ipswich Town first team home games at discounted bus fares paying a child fare for normal adult travel.

Malcolm Robson Managing Director of Ipswich Buses Ltd stated:

"In partnership with Ipswich Town Football Club we are looking to reduce the negative effects of any environmental damage caused by fans travelling to and from home games. This scheme will allow season ticket holders to travel at child fares, presently 90p.

Both ourselves and Ipswich Town Football Club recognise that there may be season ticket holders who are not used to travelling by public transport. As part of this initiative we have developed a link on our website at www.ipswichbuses.co.uk/itfc.html giving those people a journey planner facility so that people can request details of how to use our vehicles by proving their starting point. Ipswich Buses will then respond with full details of how to travel to and from the Ipswich Town home game.
