Tap The App!! – New Features Now Added
Ipswich Buses are very pleased to announce that in partnership with with UrbanThings we have added several new features to our own Ipswich Buses app which is available to download FREE through the Google Play and Apple stores.
Passengers will now be able to check how busy their bus is before it arrives by using the live occupancy data on the app which will let them know if the bus is quiet, quite busy or very busy meaning that passengers can choose the time they travel without having to worry about catching a busy bus.
You can also now view bus in real time and by clicking on a particularly bus you can check its status as well as see how busy it might be.
The App will still allow passengers to use its other features, including:
- Real Time bus information
- Purchase multi journey tickets such as Adult and under 20’s 10 trip, 7-day, 28-day, 6 month and Annual passes
- Receive service alerts
- Access timetable and map information
- Search and Plan your journey
- Find your stop
- Gift a ticket to someone else
The app will help with boarding time on our buses, all passengers have to do is download it from the app store, register with an email address, purchase their desired ticket then board the bus with their smartphone and scan the QR code on the ticket machine, wait for a beep then all done.
We are also happy to announce that we are freezing our current multi journey fares until further notice on the app, so users will receive a discounted fare,
Under 20’s aged 16 -19 will still need to show the driver either an Ipswich Buses ID card or Suffolk County Council Endeavour card when using the App on the bus.
Gift a ticket
One of the special features that the app has is the ability to gift a ticket to someone else. This is great for parents, guardians and social workers as they will be available to purchase a ticket for their Children or people within their care. This will be an easier, faster and better experience for our passengers.

1. In-App Support
Users can go to the menu in the app and tap the ‘menu’ icon -> then tap ‘Help and Support’. This will then open up a window for users to begin their support request.
2. Email Support
Users can directly email email@example.com to initiate a support request.
3. Web Support
There is also have a support web page, which is at https://ipswich.support.ticketless.travel where users can enter details of their problem.
